The
whole of the SBLNetwork will be down for a short period sometime over
the next few days. The downtime is expected to be relatively short
should all go well.. (lol *crosses fingers*) and shouldn't have any
negative long-term effects on any of the sites at all, quite the

We
are aware of a problem currently affecting the loading times of some

design of the SBLNetwork Corporate site has been overhauled to
coincide with some planned changes for the SBLNetwork homepage (this

Alternative Metal forums and WastelandsUK have now tied the knot and
become one to provide a bigger, better service for the users of both

From the end of next week some of our free hosting services will be closing. Current users of these services will not be affected and will continue to make use of our hosting free of charge. The services that will be ceasing are: Unsigned Host (web hosting for unsigned bands), Genesis Boards (forum hosting) and SPHS (paid domain names and hosting) - Again, all current users of these services will continue to receive the services, free. For anyone interested in free web hosting now (excluding image and blog hosting) will be referred to UK Host Free - a free hosting site which we highly recommend!
Our second largest site and the UK's largest picture website dedicated to the madden twins, Benji and Joel Madden in Photos, will be receiving a brand new look from this time next week - along with a huge 150+ photo update! This is part of our on-going plan to revamp and expand our key sites during 2006!
We've had a couple of moments of downtime this morning due to our hosts' datacentre being struck by lightening and all hardware systems being rebooted at a precaution shortly after the strike. Fruit-Emu has experienced a couple of database errors since, but all seems to be sorted now. Server seems stable - so we should be fine now.
Our

SBLNet webmail system has been completely upgraded. All email users
have now had their storage capacity increased to 50mbs and the whole

Due to some unforeseen circumstances (aside the on-going Sblogger fiasco) the hosting services that SBLNet provide will be going through some big changes over the next couple of months with a number of services no longer being offered. We will keep you fully updated throughout the changes and will be suggesting alternatives to affected users via the hosting support section of WastelandsUK. The services that currently look most likely to be disrupted or cease their service are: Genesis Boards, Sblogger and Unsigned Host. Nothing is certain as yet, we apologise for the inconvenience this may cause. No other services are affected.

MySpace recource site, Your Space was re-launched "as is"
when it was acquired from it's previous owner. We will be
implementing a few improvements to the site itself over the next
couple of weeks. Keep your eyes peeled and please, tell your mates on

accross our network of sites. Using this new service we are now able
to offer you the ability to start your very own pay-per-click
advertising campaign on our network. Our network is currently
receiving in the region of 67,987 page views per month, so a few

We have made several improvements to our free email service today; these changes include modifying the software so users no longer need to enter their whole email address to login and updating the service name, logo and on-screen wording. If you don't yet have one of our email accounts and would like one, drop us an email from our contacts page and we'll get you one set up!

All users of our free email service have had their storage limitations increased to 40mb from 25mb. This is completely free of charge and is part of our ongoing efforts to continually better our free services. Upload
limitations per post have been upped for standard WastelandsUK forum
members. This change affects the members in the "Members"
group whose attachment limit has been increased from 2.40mb to 3mb.
This change does not affect other member groups (Premium, Gold and
Platinum) as attachment limitations for these accounts is huge
already! PM attachments have also been enabled for WUK Premium
account members
The Wastelands Radio playlist has once again been extended to include some of the newer songs and artists in the rock, metal, punk and indie genres. We hope you like these additions - More to come!
We are currently working on a corporate site for the SBLNetwork that will deal with any business proposals or "behind the scenes" events in the future. This should be ready in a few months all going well.
The Genesis Group has existed for a few months now, but it's the first time it's been mentioned here... You many have noticed that 4 of our 30+ sites/services operate under "Genesis" branding (these being Genesis Tones, eBooks, Horoscopes and eCards) - The Genesis Group is wholly owned and operated by The SBL Network providing services on behalf of content providors. The Genesis Group service are all either free or among the VERY cheapest around! These services can be found amongst our menu sections - see above.

Well
we're back! Now, before you point out this isn't a "New"
site as such, I'm well aware of that - I was working on a new site
using the Mambo CMS software, and to be honest it pissed me off so
much, I've just given up on the project. This site allows a lot of
freedom to do whatever we want, however we want (knowledge of code
permitting!!)
So yeah, we're back! As before all of our sites
and serbices are available from the menu above.
