There has been another 40ish games added to The Wastelands arcade over the last couple of days... "The Wastelands - Ribbed for your pleasure" heh... anyways, there's more games, skins and other posh crap on the way for you's guys too... and Please, keep telling your friends! On a somewhat related note our quarterly-ish Wastelands newsletter email thingy will be going out at some point over the next few days... So look out for that too! The Wastelands (also in the "general" menu)
I've
addded a link to the the Romford Punx site, a local punk scene site
for Romford [who'd have thought with a name like that!]
The links
in Unsigned Bands > Promotors
I've
added a link to PNUK records, [Airbomb's own label] this site
provides up 'nd coming bands with a load of information from those
who've been there and done it, and then... done it again....
The
links in Unsigned Bands > Promotors
As
you may well know, SBLNet does not allow hotlinking [linking directly
to files we host from other websites] to the images we host, and
whenever a site tries to hotlink one of our hosted files they are
presented with a "host it yourself" type image... YET, for
some strange reason, hotlinking to our files seems to be
increasing... Which is strange seeing as you can't actually view the
file(s) you wanted from other sites anyways, just the block image...
So this update is two things really... Mainly a request that you STOP
hotlinking to images we host [seeing as they don't work anyway] and
secondly something of a thank you to all those [strange] sites that
are happily advertising us by displaying our block image....
On a
related note, if YOU OWN a site and would like to link to a few files
we host, then please contact us as I'm sure we could probably come to
some sort of special agreement. Thanks!
As the title says! Yup! we've done it again... theres more suff in our photo arcives...
The "888Casino OnNet" service has now left the SBL Network. A good replacement is planned.... Watch this space.
The FME site M1Adness has been removed from The SBL Network
Ever fancied your own "@sblnet.co.uk" email address?? No? Well, that's what I thought too, but then I thought I may as well have it anyway, what with it being free and all... Anywho... There is a possibility that in the not-too-distant future the SBLNet email service will be publicly available, this; as you may know is not currently the case... More info when it's available.
This
update only applies to our CURRENT email service users
One of
our email users [who has either Telewest or NTL as their ISP] has
currently got a virus affecting their email. This could potentially
be a security threat for the them, so please... If you use our email
system, and you have Telewest OR NTL as your ISP, do a complete
(upto-date) virus scan on your PC ASAP!

Regulars to our Wastelands Forums site will know that there has been some major changes afoot for about a week now. I'm really pleased to say that the vast majority of the work is now complete; Some of the improved or new features now available on the site include: Arcade, Uploads & Downloads, Links (go pimp your site!) and the general Wastelands experience has been enhanced by the introduction of new skins, avatars and a whole load of little things... there'll be a few more games and things coming over the next week or so too... Please let us know what you think of the changes either on the forums themselves or contact me via the contact us link in the "About Us" menu up the top of this page. If you're not yet a Wastelands member, head over there now! The Wastelands (also in the "general" menu)
As you may have noticed SBLNet Radio LIVE was withdrawn late last week, due to lack of interest/participation at the station. I think this is a real shame so I'm gonna try and get it back on air again later this summer (mid-August). If you would like to get involved with the running of the station (DJing etc) or would like to send your songs to us for airplay, then please contact me via the contact us link on the "About Us" menu up the top of this page ASAP!
Once again there’s been some improvements to the Standard and Platinum picture hosting accounts over on our PhotoSBLucket site. Please head on over to the site now for full details on the plans on offer and what the give you! PhotoSBLucket (also in the "Web & Hosting Services" menu)
A pretty "nifty" links section has been added to The Wastelands - this is the replacement for our retired Link Exchange service. Feel free to add whatever sites you like to it as they'll be seen by loads of people, even if they don't visit The Wastelands' link section as all visitors to the forums are shown a random link on the right of the homepage, all sites added to the links section will also have their link added to the homepage rotation!
Once
again, we have a load of stuff up on eBay for yous guys. Please go
check these out... cos if nothing else, it's keeping me fed...
- 18/06/05
SBLNet Radio LIVE & our Links Exchange sites have been withdrawn due to lack of interest. All other sites/services unaffected.
Sorry there havn't been many updates or whatever recently, there aren't likily to be many over the next week or so either - No, I'm not killing the site... I'm a bit ill at the mo... yeah, so I'll get back on the case properly ASAP! Apologies also for some of our services being a bit "yo-yoey" [up & down] over the last couple of weeks, theres been quite a few changes going on, and I'm trying to minimise the disruption... Not always an easy job!
Our Picture Archive has been updated. Loads of new pictures for you! Woo...
- 12/06/05
The whole of SBLNet will be subject to a downtime period sometime over the next 2 days due to a service provider change over. I'm afraid I can't say exactly when the downtime will occour during the 48hour time-frame, nor can I say exactly how long it'll be for... but it shouldn't be for long!
Just to confirm, all previous problems we've been experiencing with this service have now been sorted out. SBLNet Radio LIVE will be on-air, live, this weekend! Be there.
Theres some big changes a-foot over on our flagship site, The Wastelands. They will be returning again, with an improved service from the Morning of Saturday (11th). Cya then!

Some of you may have already noticed that our image hosting site "PhotoSBLucket" was re-vamped yesterday (Tuesday 10th) and was the first of the services to undergo the chnages. Keep it right here!
Chris Wilson (Good Charlotte drummer) has left the bad due to health reasons. This (*I'm led to believe*) shouldn't have too much of an effect of the future of the band itself, as having a permanent drummer has always been a week-spot for GC... Full details and official band statement can be found here: SBLNeet.co.uk/goodcharlotte
The BumNote music site has been dropped from the network following the shops sudden closure the other week. Going on information I've been given this closure shouldn't be affecting the RockStock powered events. I've been told by a couple of regulars that the sites seem to be running slower than normal recently, I'm not aware of any physical problems with the hosting server or anything like that, so I really don't know... but if you are experiencing slower than normal performance from our sites, please drop me an email detailing your internet setup (ISP, dialup? etc) and what sites going slowly for you and I'll look into it.. A few days ago I mentioned that an older SBLNet site "DigiTelly" may be making a return soon; this is no longer the case... If the site does make a return, it will probably not be in the very near future.

To further support SBLNet's local unsigned music scene I have added a link to the RockStock Promotions site to our "Loud Music" menu. RockStock, is a live music (rock etc) event promotor based at the BumNote Music shop in Carshalton, Surrey. For more information on upcoming local events, please visit the site...
For more than a year now SBLNet's flagship site has become "YOUR Interactive Interweb Community", alongside SBLNet being "YOUR Interweb Community"... But this has feeling has become more and more obvious over at The Wastelands... So we've changed it (as we figured you'd get the point)... to "Abandon hope, Accept despair" which I feel creates more of an image of what you're more than welcome to do while you're on the forums... but remember, we'll ALWAYS be YOUR Interactive Interweb Community too!
- 01/04/05
We
have a few jobs going at the moment, accordingly I've added a jobs

Just to let you guys know, if you were trying to access anything SBLNet hosted from a SWAN networked computer (Certain Schools, Colleges, 6th forms etc) you wouldn't have been able to for the majority of the day today - This was NOT a problem with our site/server but was a SWAN error which was rectified about 1:30pm *I think*
Do you or a mate manage a "cool" site you would fit into SBLNet?? Fancy getting linked from a pretty busy site such as this one? Then you probably can... Drop me an email with an approprate subject title... Me email links in the "Contact Us" menu!

I've taken the decision to pull the SBLNet Store due to a lack of interest. The "Store" link will now take you to the list of varied items we currently have running on eBay. This normally includes new & used music, computer parts, items of clothing & other stuff... So, it's not bad I suppose!
I've
spent the last.. while, uploading 100+ various images to the SBLNet
Photobucket. So if you have nothing better to do... head over there!
Now more than 2100 piccys over there!
Found in "General"
Just
added a range of new Avatars that members can choose from on The
Wastelands. New "Bomb Dudes" and NFL related ones available
now.
Wastelands can be found in "General"
If you fancy something a little different from our radio offerings [rock/metal/punk etc] why not head over to OfficialBoyBlue.com - a mate's station showcasing some excellent love, pop and easy listening tunes...

Before any you guys start thinking SBLNet's died cos I havn't updated in 7 days - it hasn't! I have been working on a range of new and improved bits and pieces for the network. So, hopefully - all going well, they should start appearing sometime soon.
This
new ones for all you techies out there! This rather "nifty"
little tool allows you to perform a range of queries on the interweb;
including Whois, IP Whois, DNS, HTTP, Pings, Trace amongst a few
others.. lol Have fun.
Found in "Services"
Yup, even more improvements have arrived on the SBLNet Email thingy. Posh new look, improved designs and the wonderful ability to block idiots from emailing you! - But still, sorry this service isn't available to everyone.

This
time it's not just a service re-brand.. this is totally new, and
tones better than it's forerunner! This is an ultimate replacement
for your crappy MSN that has a tendency to die occasionally... We’ve
teamed up with Dead World to bring you "DW-SBLNet Messenger"...
or a chatroom, with a difference if you like... Supports private
conversations (just you and someone else) or the big group chat...
your call! Check it out now!
(Please
use your Wastelands member names and passwords when logging in here,
if you're not a Wastelands member that’s no problem either,
just choose a member name and password for yourself your first visit
- this will be remembered for you)
SBLNet
Messenger is on the General Menu
There’s been a few more changes made at The Wastelands over the last day or so, a skin change (previous one still available from skin selector) improved layout and a few other bits and bobs. Check the "Some Changes..." topic in the member services area on the forums for full details...
Yup, I've got a bunch of new stuff up for auction on eBay this week.. link directly to my stuffs in the Network Info menu
I'm
sure you guys'll be noticing the appearance of Google stuff and
things across SBLNet's sites over the next few days. I'd decided to
let Google power the majority of ads across the network, so
hopefully, you'll be seeing some stuff you like the looks of in the
lil ad boxes.... ;)
Also added the mighty Google web search to the
homepage (see above).. so the world is, quite literally now, at your
fingertips... as well as the SBLNet of course...
